Korean manufacturer LG on Monday announced the launch of its flagship G3 in the Indian market. This smartphone with Quad-HD (2560x1440p) display will retail for INR 47,990 (16GB) and INR 50,990 (32GB) in the country.
As we had reported, the company is also introducing a limited Big B edition of the smartphone, which comes with Amitabh Bachchan’s signature on the back. LG will only be offering 15,000 units of the special edition.
According to LG, it will also be bundling a free quick-window cover worth INR 3,499 as well as INR 5,000 voucher for the purchase of G Watch with every G3 in the country. It is also offering a service voucher for a free screen-replacement with the phone, in case you break it.
Coming to the smartphone, LG G3 features a 5.5-inch display, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Android 4.4 and 13MP rear camera with laser auto-focus and OIS+. There is 2GB of RAM in the 16GB version of the phone and 3GB in 32GB version. In addition, the smartphone comes with microSD card slot, 2.1MP front camera, 3000 mAh battery, NFC, and the usual set of connectivity options. All these features are nicely packed in an 8.9mm thick chassis, which is made of plastic with metallic finish.
On the software front, LG has included a number of enhancements including the new Smart Notice service, which offers suggestions and recommendations based on user behaviour, phone usage patterns and location. Other tweaks include Knock Code, Smart Keyboard, Smart Security, Content Lock, Kill Switch (remotely disable your phone), and Guest Mode.
There is no doubt that LG G3 is feature-packed and if you have INR 50K to spare, it is the best you will get the market right now. The smartphone is already go on sale at select retailers and the expanded availability is expected later this week.
