Motorola today announced the launch of the new Moto G in the Indian market. According to the company, the phone will go on sale at midnight tonight (Sep 6, 12:01 AM) via e-retailer Flipkart, which is the exclusive seller of Motorola devices in the country.
“We have seen phenomenal success in this market and the response from the consumers has been incredible. We now bring to you, the new Moto G, the next-generation of the most successful smartphone in Motorola’s history,” said Ami Boni, GM, Motorola India in a statement.
New Moto G has been priced at INR 12,999 for the 16GB dual-SIM version and will be available in White and Black colour options. Motorola will not be selling the 8GB or single-SIM versions in the Indian market.
To remind you, Moto G (2014) features a 5-inch 720p display, 1.2GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8/ 16GB of internal storage. Motorola has also included a microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front shooter and 2070 mAh battery. You can check out the detailed specifications later in the report.
“With its all-day battery, quad-core speed, the latest Android OS, plus the ability to customize your phone with Motorola Shells, Moto G keeps up with everything you do,” stated Motorola in blog post.
In related news, Motorola will also be releasing the colourful back covers for Moto G, also known as, Motorola Shells in India at Flipkart. There is no word on the pricing but we will let you as soon as we something.
